Welcome to Hospitality!! My name is Diane Serra and I am a teacher who has come from the industry of hospitality. I am very excited to be your teacher this year. This course is crafted as a platform to introduce you to the skills required to match the industry’s demand for qualified entry-level employees. In one semester this program will teach you the dynamics involved with the hospitality and tourism industry. You will also learn practical skills and theoretical knowledge that will allow you the opportunity to work within the hospitality sector. Hospitality and Tourism

The courses provide students with opportunities to explore different areas of hospitality and tourism, as reflected in the various sectors of the tourism industry, with an emphasis on food service. Students will study culinary techniques of food handling and preparation, health and safety standards, the use of tools and equipment, the origins of foods, and event planning, and will learn about tourism attractions across Ontario.
