One of the requirements for graduation with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma is the successful completion of the grade 10 Literacy Test. The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) will take place this year across the province on April 8, 2010.
Grade 10 is a pivotal year in a student's educational career. Students choose college and university pathways and prepare to write the OSSLT. An information evening will be held on Wednesday, February 3 at 6:30pm in the library for all parents of grade 10 students. The process of preparation for the OSSLT will be explained, special education supports for students identified with a learning need and/or having an individual Learning Plan (IEP) will be discussed and course selection using Career Cruising software will be demonstrated.
The goal of the Literacy Committee is to provide the students with the necessary tools to successfully complete the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test. We need to work together with parents to help students be successful. Please plan on being here for this important information session.
