| The
Geography classes of Ms. Koppens, Mrs Cain-Campbell, and Mr
Coppin spent a day at the Ganaraska Forest Center developing
orienteering and map reading skills and also learning how to
identify rocks in the session on Geology. These skills and knowledge
are a big part of the physical geography component of the grade
nine curriculum.
A few showers and lots of walking did not dampen the spirits
of the classes and other than a few wrong turns on the trails
the students enjoyed the lessons and the pleasure of learning
outdoors. Thanks to those who supported our efforts to teach
outside the classroom. |
