On
Friday May 25, 2007 there was a board leadership symposium experience
for several grade 10 students from six high schools including
St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Mary’s, St. Stevens, Holy Cross,
St. Peters and Holy Trinity. Students had the opportunity to hear
and learn about Jean Vanier and his life. Students engaged in
small group discussions on the themes of Jean Vanier’s work.
Leadership styles were also discussed; as well as communications
styles facilitating group discussions.
This symposium was a day of preparation for the “When Faith
Meets Pedagogy” conference in the fall. Jean Vanier will
be presenting at the conference and on October 25th 2007 students
from all Catholic High Schools in Ontario will gather to hear
him speak and talk with other students. Holy Trinity will be there
and representing the theme spirit of our community.
