EQAO Results - Literacy

Catholic Secondary Schools participate annually in the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test

(OSSLT) Provincial Assessment under the direction of the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO). The purpose of the OSSLT is to determine whether or not students have acquired the reading and writing skills that they are expected to have learned by the end of grade 9, as outlined in The Ontario Curriculum.

The test is written in the grade 10 year. The date for this year's test is March 30th 2016.

Unsuccessful students are expected to re-test in the following year. Successful completion of the OSSLT is one of the thirty two requirements for an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

EQAO Results - Mathematics

Catholic Secondary Schools participate annually in the Ontario Secondary School Mathematics Provincial Assessment under the direction of the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO). The purpose of the testing is to determine whether or not students have acquired the mathematics skills that they are expected to have learned by the end of grade 8, as outlined in The Ontario Curriculum. The test results also enhance knowledge about student learning, and are important tool for improvement at the individual school and provincial levels.

The test is written in the grade 9 year for both Academic and Applied students.
